The tangled web has been woven in Washington, a web so interwoven among its shakers and movers that getting to the bottom of it is likened to finding a needle in a haystack. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and other intelligence agencies are sifting through the fodder in hopes of finding that shiny object, that smoking gun.

Nearly every day a new revelation is announced in the news media. Yet, every new discovery only seems to lead to more questions, unnerving questions that drive us deeper into the haystack of lies and misdeeds.

The Washington elite lie to protect each other. Ambassadors from other countries lie to cover-up their own misdeeds, that may, or may not be, entangled with Washington. There are rumors of investigations that lead to new investigations. FBI Director James Comey is a headhunter and he’s been sharpening his spike for a long time.

Meanwhile, legislators in both houses of Congress have their own, so called, intelligence committees, that seem more untrustworthy with each passing day. Liars all! Does anyone one of them care about America any longer?

During the 2016 election campaign Trump said electing Hillary Clinton would bring Washington to a standstill. “If she were to win,” he said on Nov. 3, “it would create an unprecedented constitutional crises that would cripple the operations of our government.”

Clinton could not become president due to the doubt and confusion that surrounded her. So, we brought in the Twitter clown instead. A clown that brought with him a circus of deplorable characters determined to undermine democracy.

As Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fl), said just before the election: “Can this country afford to have a president under investigation by the FBI?”

No, Mr. Rubio we cannot, but it’s what we have.
