Watched the movie Hidden Figures last night, with a group of women, and it is amazing that this still goes on…the racial side and the woman side…sometimes seems to disheartening.  The movie is based on historic fact, but also based in today’s realities. We still see this every day for women, for blacks, and in the last few weeks for ethnic origin and religion.

But…persistence pays off…in gender gains, racial gains, religious gains, origin gains…we must persist…. Elizabeth Warren faced it this week, Hillary Clinton faced it in November. And if these two powerful and talented women faced it, think about all the other people who faced it recently…not in the far distant past.

When you think about the lost talent of those who were held back because of race, gender or other imagined boundaries, it is heartbreaking. If we could just get over it; there is so much talent out there to develop because we are all just people!! Can you imagine how wonderful our world would be if we could all just be ourselves and our best???? The real women of Hidden Figures changed their world…and John Glenn’s world.
