Last night Trump replaced acting attorney general Sally Yates, who refused to defend his new immigration policies and replaced her with Dana Boente, who vowed he will defend those policies.

Boente, former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, has said he would enforce the Trump Administrations new directive until he is replaced, presumably by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala), who is set for confirmation today, unless the Democrats can slow down Trumps harried momentum.

A White House news release stated Yates  “betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States.”

Yates said in a statement last night that she was not convinced that Trump’s executive order is lawful. She said that as long as she headed the Justice Department no defense of his order would be presented. Shortly afterward she was fired by Trump and replaced.
